The Remnant Basket was started over thirty years ago in Bowraville by Margaret Ussher.Today it is located in Macksville and owned by Diane and David Banks.I started working in The Remnant Basket in 1992 where I also taught various embroidery and patchwork techniques.We bought the business in July 2006.

The store stocks about 2000 patchwork fabrics, dress fabrics,patterns, habadashry, books,lace, DMC stranded cotton and tapestry wool, buttons and wool.The Remnant Basket is home to The Verandah Post Patchworkers.Quilters meet on Monday and Saturday, hand embroiderers on Wednesday and machine embroiderers on Thursday.Classes and workshops are also held; details can be found in the monthly newsletter, available by email or from the store.

Each year at Easter Verandah Post Patchworkers in conjunction with The Remnant Basket hold a very successful quilt show.We exhibit quilts from all over Australia and our local area.We conduct a quilt challenge as well which is open to anyone to enter.
